St Christopher's is blessed to welcome a newly ordained priest, Father Sang Woo Chi, into our Parish family. Father was born in South Korea to a Presbyterian family. His father was a Presbyterian minister, and Father Sang himself began studies to become a minister. He served two years in the South Korean Army as was required by law. He came to the United States to complete his studies, and here he became a Catholic. Later, he entered St. Charles Seminary where he was ordained to the priesthood om May 21st. Please join us in welcoming Father to St Christopher's.

The Knights of Columbus is currently signing up men interested in joining the new council being established at St. Christopher Parish. Founded on the principles of charity, unity and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent was to bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families. The Church renovations ought to be completed before Christmas and the Community Center by next summer. This news makes your contribution more important than ever. This includes the money raised ten years ago; contributed in the past; the new State Grant; and pledged in the current Capital Campaign. We are offering parishioners a secondary way of automated giving, called Parish Giving. This program gives more flexibility for online Sunday contributions, in addition to special collections like Christmas, Easter, Holy days, and diocesan collections. This program also allows for credit cards.

St. Christopher will be participating in a parish survey about discipleship conducted by the Catholic Leadership Institute! We need your help! We are trying to get the highest response rate possible. This information will be invaluable as we plan for the future and strive to be the best disciples we can be. We will receive the results this spring/ summer at which time we will share what we have learned with the entire parish.
As a Parish Community, we have many opportunities to make this year's Lenten season a time to enhance our relationship with God. Whatever our age, let us not let this season go by without drawing nearer to the Lord. If you get even just a little bit closer to God, it will be a successful Lent.
St. Christopher School will be hosting a Raffle Fundraising Event to benefit our school. Super Bowl Sunday Is February 13th!!! We will be outside of Church the weekend of February 5th & 6th taking paid preorders after all of the Masses. We have Italian, Roast Beef, Turkey and American hoagies available to preorder. They will be freshly made on Sunday, February 13th with your choices of cheese and produce. Building Project News!! We received approval for the Site Plan from the Philadelphia Water Department and plans went to L & I for permits. This news makes your contribution even more important. Join us after Mass during the Christmas Season to enjoy a selection of Christmas Hymns and Carols sung by our Parish Choir! The choir will be singing for about 25 minutes after the 5PM Saturday January 9th. This will be a great way to celebrate the Season! We hope to see you there!
This Tuesday, December 21st, several guest priests will join Monsignor and Fr. Steve to hear Confessions in Church. We will begin at 7PM and continue to hear Confessions until everyone has had the opportunity to go to confession. If you plan to attend, please arrive as close to 7PM as you can. There will not be a formal prayer service, simply come and take advantage of Confession and then you may depart as you finish. Please note that this will be the only time Confessions will be heard for the next three weeks. There will be NO Confessions on Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25th or New Year’s Day, Saturday, January 1st. Our regular schedule for Confessions will resume on Saturday, January 8th, 2022.
The weekend of December 4th and 5th there will be paper ornaments on the Christmas Tree, each with a gift suggetion for the children in the Mission of St. Joan of Arc Parish (Gingerbread Man) and the Ladies in Dawn’s place (Christmas Stockings). Please take one of the ornaments from the tree! The following weekend of December 11th and 12th, you are asked to bring your gifts forward at the Offertory of the Mass and place them in the baskets on the altar. We ask that you bring the gifts in a gift bag if possible with the ornaments taped securely to the outside of the package. The gifts are sorted for distribution to the different organizations by the ornament. Please make sure to put the dollar amount on any gift cards purchased. Thank You
Boy Scouts Troop 367 is conducting their Annual Wreath Sale The 24” nicely decorated wreaths are $20 & the 30” by 40” grave blankets are $30 Pick ups are in Trainer hall on Monday, November 29th between 6:45PM and 8:00PM and outside of Holy Family Hall on Saturday, December 4th after the 5PM Mass and on Sunday, December 5th between 8:30AM and Noon. The Scouts of Pack and Troop 367 are participating in the annual Scouting for Food drive. We are collecting canned and non-perishable boxed/bagged food items for use in the Philadelphia region. We will be placing door hanger reminders on as many doors in the parish as possible on November 13th but we will not get to every home. There will not be any bags delivered. We will have a collection box in the vestibule of the Church between November 6th and 20th, if you wish to leave a donation there. A scout should return to your home on November 20th if you received a door hanger.
