The Knights of Columbus was founded in March 1882 as a mutual benefit society for working-class and immigrant Catholics in the United States. It has grown to support refugee relief, Catholic education, local parishes and dioceses, and global Catholic social and political causes. Founded on the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism by Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent was to bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled, and needy members and their families. St. Christopher Council #17997 was formed on May 17, 2022, at St. Christopher Parish with 28 charter members. Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM in Holy Family Hall. - We come from many places, backgrounds, and stages in our lives but we are all one faith. Our goal is to help men, their families and our parish grow closer to Christ. Through our various programs and resources we provide opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith. A ministry within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Care Management Services links senior citizens and their loved ones with a wide variety of resources in order to help our seniors address the many challenges they face such as legal issues, emotional and physical health, transportation and housekeeping. We are offering parishioners a secondary way of automated giving, called Parish Giving. This program gives more flexibility for online Sunday contributions, in addition to special collections like Christmas, Easter, Holy days, and diocesan collections. This program also allows for credit cards.
