Archbishop Perez will be visiting our parish on June 20th, to celebrate the 5 PM Vigil Mass. You will each have the opportunity to meet the Archbishop afterward.
Father’s Day Mass Remembrance Envelopes are for Living and Deceased Fathers. Father’s Day Spiritual Bouquet Cards are for Fathers that are living. Both are available in the church or at the parish office. Please return the intention envelopes to the parish office or put it in the collection basket so that your Father’s Day intentions can be placed on the altar and be remembered in the masses on Father’s Day and the rest of the month of June.
May 19th is an important day at St Christopher's. Our priests are both celebrating the anniversary of their ordinations. Monsignor Garvin was ordained on May 19, 1973 and is celebrating his 47th anniversary. Father Steve was ordained on May 19, 2007 and is celebrating his 13th anniversary. God Bless you both on this joyous day.
Thursday is the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. We will be livestreaming Ascension Thursday Mass at 5 pm on Wednesday May 20th. This Mass will be available for viewing through Ascension Thursday itself. The message of this Feast is clear. Jesus ascends to the Father and turns his work over to the Holy Spirit so that all people of all times can share in the salvation Christ has won for us. The period right after the Ascension is a novena of days leading up to the great Feast of Pentecost, the day the Church was born. Join us for Mass and ask God to help us feel the power of His Holy Spirit.
Please Note: May 26th, will be the last time during the Month of May that we come together in Church at 1PM to recite the Rosary. Remember that May is the month of the Blessed Mother. This is probably the first year in the history of the parish that we will not have a May procession. A loyal band of parishioners will be reciting the rosary on Tuesdays during the month of May at 1 p.m. in Church. You are all welcome to honor Our Lady by joining them.
With Mother’s Day approaching, we again have Mother’s Day Spiritual Bouquet Cards for Mothers that are living and Mother’s Day Mass Remembrance Envelopes for Deceased Mothers. Both are available in the parish office and in the back of the church. Please return the intention envelopes to the parish office so that your Mother’s Day intentions can be placed on the altar and be remembered in the masses on Mother’s Day and the rest of the month of May.
