The Knights of Columbus was founded in March 1882 as a mutual benefit society for working-class and immigrant Catholics in the United States. It has grown to support refugee relief, Catholic education, local parishes and dioceses, and global Catholic social and political causes. Founded on the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism by Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent was to bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled, and needy members and their families. St. Christopher Council #17997 was formed on May 17, 2022, at St. Christopher Parish with 28 charter members. Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM in Holy Family Hall. - We come from many places, backgrounds, and stages in our lives but we are all one faith. Our goal is to help men, their families and our parish grow closer to Christ. Through our various programs and resources we provide opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith. We challenge you to put your faith in action!
