Scouts will be outside of Church the weekend of, February 4th & 5th taking paid preorders after all of the Masses. Italian, Roast Beef, Turkey and American hoagies are available to preorder. Hoagies will be freshly made on Sunday, February 12th with your choices of cheese and produce. The cost is $20, however if you preorder and pay by 2PM on Sunday, February 5th the price is $18. Our Groundbreaking Ceremony will be Sunday, February 12th after the 12:00 Noon Mass. Bishop Michael Fitzgerald, our Regional Bishop, will be the Celebrant for the 12:00 Noon Mass and lead the Groundbreaking Ceremony. We will have light refreshments afterward. Please join us as you will be home in plenty of me for the event later that day! Our General Contractor, Magnum Inc. plans to begin their on-site work for both projects January 30th. We will share information regarding how this will impact the parish as we get closer to that date.

The St. Christopher Parish bereavement support group is led by Katie Rotondo, LMFT, a trained professional in the mental health field. The group will be a safe and non-judgmental environment for the purpose of supporting each other through the grieving process. All forms of grief are welcome (i.e., death of loved ones, infertility, job loss). Oue next meeting will be on Sunday, January 8 @ 11:00 Am in the Parish Office.

A ministry within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Care Management Services links senior citizens and their loved ones with a wide variety of resources in order to help our seniors address the many challenges they face such as legal issues, emotional and physical health, transportation and housekeeping. Services are free and confidential. Lisa Shousky, our Geriatric Care Manager, can meet with you at your home or at the Parish Office. Please come as close to 7 PM as possible. We will hear confessions until the last penitent, and we will stay until at least 7:30 PM. With Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve falling on Saturdays, confession times will be a challenge. We will have extra priests on Thursday, December 22nd.
Please consider being a "Secret Santa". This program is administered out of our parish office. Your donations can be dropped off at the office or put in the Sunday collection basket in a plain envelope marked “Secret Santa.” This program benefits parishioners who might be having a tough time making ends meet. We think we have a reasonably good handle for those in need, but you might know a parishioner who could use some help, please let us know. Thank you.
The weekend of December 3rd and 4th there will be paper ornaments on the Christmas Tree, each with a gift suggestion for the children in the Mission of St. Joan of Arc Parish (Christmas Bells) and the Ladies in Dawn’s place (Christmas Stockings). Please take one of the ornaments from the tree! The following weekend of December 10th and 11th, you are asked to bring your gifts to Church and place them in the baskets on the altar prior to Mass. We ask that you bring the gifts in a gift bag, if possible, with the ornaments taped securely to the outside of the package. The gifts are sorted for distribution to the different organizations by the ornament.
Upon a Midnight Clear: A Christmas Musical Featuring the St. Christopher Parish Choir and Children’s Choir, Cantors, Parish Lectors and Students from our PREP Program! Join us on Sunday, December 11th at 6:00PM for an evening of song and reflection as we celebrate the seasons of Advent and Christmas. The concert will be followed by a reception in Holy Family Hall.

Self Defense Course is taught by our own council member Bill McGinley who is a 6th degree black belt with over 30 years experience. St. Christopher Parish will celebrate a Memorial Liturgy for all the faithful departed of our parish. In a particular way we will pray for the members of our community who have died in the past year. Everyone is invited to participate in this Mass and to lift up in prayer their beloved family and friends called by God to share in eternal life.
We are collecting canned and non-perishable boxed/bagged food items for use in the Philadelphia region. We will be placing door hanger reminders on as many doors in the parish as possible on November 12th but we will not get to every home. There will not be any bags delivered. We will have a collection box in the vestibule of the Church between October 28th and November 19th, if you wish to leave a donation there.
Deacon Gene is inviting all parishioners to come to the RCIA sessions. You may pick and choose when you come depending on the topic of the session. All are welcome! The Philadelphia Chapter Knights of Columbus will be honoring Father Dennis O’Donnell as our Catholic Man of the Year at our 120th Annual Columbus Day Dinner on Sunday, October 2nd at 2:00PM. The location is MEI/ Twining Hall Caterers located at 4900 Street Road in Trevose. Many of you may remember Father Dennis from his time in residence at St. Christopher’s Parish. Do you love to sing? Have you ever thought about joining our Parish Choir? The Parish Choir welcomes all parishioners who have a desire to share their musical gifts with the parish community. The ability to read music is a plus, but certainly not necessary! Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 7:15-9:00PM in church, beginning on Thursday September 15th. Now is a great time to join! Young adults between the ages of 21 to 40 are invited to check out a new group called CYAN. Catholic Young Adults in the Northeast is being hosted by Resurrection of Our Lord Parish located at 2000 Shelmire Avenue, right at Castor Avenue. If you are a young person or couple looking for something for your age group, this might be for you. The group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Life Center of Resurrection Parish. The meetings begin with prayer, adoration, praise and worship and then a spiritual reflection. It is followed by fellowship.
