PLEASE JOIN FATHER SANG FOR OUR LENTEN SERIES on Thursday Evenings (after Mass) 7PM to 8PM in Holy Family Hall.
All are welcome!
This special Lenten Series will bring us close to God through Christ by exploring and taking a closeup look at life’s big question of our hearts.
March 9th—”Who are You?”
March 16th—”Am I Saved?”
March 23rd—”Why a Church?”
Along with Prayer, Fasting is one of the hallmarks of the Lenten season.
The Bishops of the United States prescribe, as minimal obligation, that all persons who are:
2. Eighteen years of age and older, up to and including their 59th birthday, are bound to fast by limiting themselves to a single full meal on Ash Wednesday and on Good Friday, while the other meals on those days are to be light.
Starting Ash Wednesday, we will pray the Rosary Monday through Thursday at 6:00PM before the evening Masses. (NOTE on Ash Wednesday, the Rosary will be at 6:30PM, since the Mass will be at 7PM).
On Friday, we will pray the Rosary at 6:30PM before the Stations of the Cross.
“Pray to draw closer to the Lord as the center of your life and the reason you do everything.” Bishop Barron
This Lenten devotion will be celebrated on the Fridays of Lent at 7:00PM in Church prededed by the Rosary at 6:30PM
Along with Prayer and Abstinence, Almsgiving is an important part of our Lenten journey.
We start out giving to those in need by our Ash Wednesday collection which is earmarked for the Blessed Margaret Home for women with crisis pregnancies.
Before she retired, parishioner Pam Barnett administered the home and made it the respected pro-life program that it is today. So, please support the Blessed Margaret Home and look for ways to support other worthwhile charities.
We also recommend Operation Rice Bowl which combines the three elements of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Rice Bowls are available at the doors of the Church.
