Since 1950, we have been a community of faith, and it is now time that we build for our future. To fulfill this mission and reach as many people in our community as we can, our parish will accomplish two major projects.
3-Year Committment | Annually | Quarterly | Monthly |
---|---|---|---|
$5,000 | $1,666.67 | $416.67 | $138.89 |
$4,000 | $1,333.33 | $333.33 | $111.11 |
$3,000 | $1,000.00 | $250.00 | $83.33 |
The present Church structure has gone through minimal changes since 1978. We wish to make our parish as safe, comfortable, and welcoming as possible, and therefore need to make necessary additions and renovations. Some of the significant upgrades include adding new bathrooms, replacing flooring, refinishing pews, and adding cushions. These upgrades will ensure the well-being of our parishioners and guests. We also would like to expand the narthex in the front of the Church, as a larger area will allow for more social space and additional area for greeting people. These renovations will bring more comfort to our current parishioners and allow our community members and new parishioners to feel more welcomed.
There is currently very limited space for parishioners, students, and other friends to come together as a community. A community center would provide ample space for events and gatherings that do not have a sufficient place. Additionally, a proper space would be included that St. Christopher School students and the community at large can use as a gymnasium for sports and other physical education activities. The community center would include the elimination of four classrooms and be integrated into the existing building so there is access from inside.
Our parish family shares in the responsibility of transforming our parish to ensure its viability for future generations. As the Trainer Family generously contributed their land in 1950, we too must make our mark on the future of our St. Christopher family.
We are already in the process of building both projects. We will fund the work through a unified capital campaign. The goal of this campaign is to raise $3 million over a 3-year period. The campaign will build on the already saved funds towards the church renovations and the community center from the Heritage of Faith/Vision of Hope Campaign, plus other generous donations. When the project is complete, the buildings will reflect the vision our founders left for us: a community of faith and discipleship.
We are honoring all campaign donors who wished to be acknowledged in a publicly-displayed book. Donations at $10,000 and above will receive a special recognition placed in the community center. If you have made a donation thus far and wish to remain anonymous, please notify Deacon Jim, at deaconjim@stchrisparish.org.
